The 2019 Kia Stinger might be renowned for its good looks and strong performance, but it performs extremely well when it comes to safety as well. It recently earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s Top Safety Pick Plus award.
The Stinger received the highest possible scores in all crashworthiness evaluations, including the driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraint tests.
But to qualify for the 2019 Top Safety Pick Plus award, vehicles must not only earn top scores in all of those categories but also earn an advanced or superior rating for front crash prevention as well as a good rating for headlight visibility.
The Stinger’s front crash prevention system successfully avoided collisions in 12 mph and 25 mph track tests, earning the top superior rating, and when equipped with the available LED headlights was also found to pass the headlight visibility test. The headlights are offered with and without high-beam assist as well as with curve-adaptive LED projectors that help you see into corners.
The 2019 Kia Stinger is one of only two large non-luxury cars to have earned the 2019 Top Safety Pick Plus award. Test-drive it for yourself when you stop by Evansville Kia.
