The Kia Telluride and Team Telluriders made a show-stopping debut at the fifth-annual Rebelle Rally. Thanks to the team’s “Give it Everything” spirit and skillful driving, the Telluriders achieved second place in the competitive X-Cross class.
Piloted by driver Alyssa Roenigk and navigator Sabrina Howells, the Telluride easily conquered rugged terrain on the Rebelle Rally’s 1,500-mile journey, which spanned from Lake Tahoe to the southern border. Their performance was particularly impressive because it was the first time Kia had ever participated in the rally.
“Thanks to Alyssa and Sabrina’s grit in the arduous Rebelle Rally, they helped raise the Telluride’s credibility to new heights,” said Sean Yoon, the president and CEO of Kia Motors North America and Kia Motors America. “Their huge accomplishment will go down in Kia history and we couldn’t be more proud of our team.”
Roenigk and Howells took pride in their performance and embraced the Kia Telluride as a third teammate. The mid-size SUV’s capable performance kept them one step ahead of the competition. “On the final day, when we pulled up to checkpoints deep in the Imperial Sand Dunes and saw the look on the faces of the 4×4 teams when we beat them there – that is a memory that will stick in our minds for a long time,” stated Team Telluriders in a press release.
The Telluride won its spot on the podium with only minor modifications, such as a skid plate to protect the underbody, as well as a set of all-terrain tires.
